It’s been a few months since I posted here. Three months of changes and craziness. If you don’t already know, I am now going to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama for three months with Semesters by World Race – a plan that is much different than when I started but one that I am expecting to see God move through!

Here are our ministries for each country!! They could change but this is the most up-to-date info, confirmed this week!

NICARAGUA: REAP Granada- focus on Prayer Walking, Sports Ministry, Community Outreach, Prison Ministry, Community Development (located in Granada, Nicaragua)

COSTA RICA: Ocean’s Edge- focus on Community Development, Community Outreach, Children’s Ministry (located in Jaco, Costa Rica)

PANAMA: Global Food Partners- focus on Community Outreach, Manual Labor (located in Chiriqui, Panama)

 

Here is a personal update. From graduating to spending not one but two weeks in the Dominican Republic to directing a playground camp, and lots in between, this season of my life has been wild. Yet, I have learned and seen so much of God’s character and the desires of His heart. Since sharing everything would be close to impossible, here are some snippets of what the Lord has been teaching me.

Peace: Anxiety comes in many forms, big and small, but God promises peace. Anxiety bows in His presence. The battle is His, let Him fight for you. All you need to do is be still, find rest, He’ll bring you peace. “The Lord will fight for you; you only need to be still” (Exodus 14:14). 

Patience: Time is in His hands. Don’t rush Him. Let Father do what He does when He wants to do it. Wait expectantly, believe He’s going to do it. “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand” (Psalm 40:1-2).

Community: Interaction with other people is so valuable. Community is bigger than just your physical neighbors. Even the people who you only interact with for a short period of time are a part of your community; look at it like you’re making friends for Heaven. Reach out to people. Talk to them. Show them the love that lives in you. God uses others to speak to you, to teach you, to reveal Himself to you. “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1).

Power: There is power in the name of Jesus. He will break chains, tear down walls, and destroy strongholds when you call on His name. The enemy works hard, but the Lord’s power holds dominion. There is nothing that our God cannot do. His power lives and works in us. “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20).

 While I’m navigating this current season of preparation and also waiting for the answering of prayers, I’m constantly being reminded of the goodness of God. Even in the midst of confusion and questions, Jesus continues to teach me and show me more of His heart. I pray that through reading my little update, God reaches you, and you are reminded of who He is and how much He loves you.
